Text Blast Software With a Compliance Gate
Text blast software sends one SMS to a whole list in a single scheduled send. ColdTexting runs every blast through a compliance gate first: contacts without consent are skipped, quiet hours are respected per time zone, opt-out language is checked and segment cost is shown before you confirm.
The compliance gate
The last screen before a blast is the one that protects you
One click sends a text to every contact on the list, so the screen in front of that click has to show everything that can go wrong.
A text blast is a single SMS sent to an entire list or segment at one scheduled moment, usually an announcement, a promotion or an urgent update. In ColdTexting the confirm step is a gate, not a formality. It lists the contacts that will be skipped and why, the total segment cost, the sending waves by time zone and the compliance score of the message. A score below the send threshold keeps the button disabled until the fix is made.
The segment line matters as much as the score. If a blast would run past the segments left in your billing period, the gate says so before the send, instead of stopping halfway through the list.
Carrier filtering
What gets a text blast filtered and what the gate does about it
Carriers judge a blast by its content, its sender and the reaction of the people who receive it. Each trigger below has a matching check.
| Trigger | What the gate does | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| Public link shortener such as bit.ly | Flags it and asks for your own domain | Message score |
| No business name in the text | Flags missing brand identification | Message score |
| All caps and urgency wording | Warns on shouting and pressure phrases | Message score |
| Unregistered sender number | Sends only from 10DLC registered numbers | Numbers page |
| Contacts who never opted in | Skips them and lists the count | Confirm screen |
| Spike of complaints and STOP replies | Suppresses opt-outs on every number at once | Campaign report |
You can test any blast copy in the SMS compliance checker before the campaign exists. The same engine scores the message again on the confirm screen, so nothing changes between test and send.
Scheduling
Blasts that go out at the right hour in every time zone
Scheduling a blast for later is the normal case. Pick the local time, and the software splits the list into waves by recipient time zone. A 9 am Tuesday blast reaches Baltimore first and Phoenix three hours later, each at 9 am on their own clock.
Waves also respect state windows. Maryland, Florida, Oklahoma and Washington contacts are held to 8 am to 8 pm, while the federal limit of 8 am to 9 pm applies everywhere else.
After the send
A blast starts conversations, so the replies need a home
Many blast tools are one way, and replies vanish into a number nobody watches. Here every answer lands in the shared inbox, tagged with the blast that triggered it and routed to the person who can act on it. Opt-outs are processed before anyone reads them.
If your sends are large and frequent, compare this page with the mass texting service overview and the segment math explained under bulk SMS.
