Applicant consent

Candidates check texts between shifts and classes. The application form is where you earn the right to reach them there.

Applicant text consent is a checkbox on your application form that names your company and says the candidate agrees to receive texts about their application and interviews. ColdTexting stores that wording with each candidate, together with the time, the form, the job and the IP address, so any recruiter can show where the permission came from.

New applicants arrive from your careers page form, from a CSV export or from your ATS through Zapier. A candidate without a consent source does not import. Sourced profiles found on job boards are a different case, and the rules for those are covered in is cold texting legal.

Interview reminders

Confirmation and reminders that run themselves

Booking an interview starts the schedule. A reply confirms, reschedules or hands the conversation to the recruiter.

An interview reminder sequence is a set of timed texts tied to one interview slot. It confirms at booking, reminds the day before and a couple of hours before, and sends a no-show follow-up only when the recruiter marks the interview as missed. A reply of C tags the candidate as confirmed, R opens a reschedule conversation with the recruiter, and STOP ends every text to that number at once.

Reminders respect quiet hours in the candidate's time zone, so an early shift interview never triggers a text at 6 in the morning. The step builder and more timing examples are on the SMS sequences page.

Recruiter inboxes

Each recruiter owns their candidates, every template carries a score

Replies route to the recruiter who owns the candidate, from a company number rather than a personal phone. When a recruiter is out, the team lead reassigns the thread and the full history moves with it. The inbox is described under two way texting.

Saved replies hold your recruiting text message templates for screening, interviews, no-shows and offers. Each template is scored by the compliance check when it is saved, so a recruiter in a hurry picks a text that already has your brand and opt-out line.

Timing

When to send each recruiting text

Good timing keeps candidates engaged and keeps texts inside quiet hours in the candidate's own time zone.

Recruiting text types and when to send them
TextWhen to sendWhat it should include
