SlickText Pricing and Plans Compared With SlickText Alternatives
By ColdTexting team 7 min read
SlickText pricing starts at $29 a month for 500 credits and runs through eight published plans to $939 a month for 50,000 credits, with custom Enterprise pricing above that. Every plan includes every feature, unlimited contacts, free incoming texts and rollover credits. Paying yearly gives you 2 months free, and carrier fees are passed through on top of the plan at no markup.
We read the SlickText pricing page in October 2026 and turned it into the numbers a buyer needs: the full price list, the cost per text at each tier, what three different teams would actually pay, and where a different tool fits better. If you are comparing SlickText against another texting platform before you sign up, start here.
SlickText plans and prices in 2026
SlickText does not name its plans. You pick a monthly credit volume and the price follows. One credit sends one standard SMS segment of up to 160 characters to one subscriber.
| Credits a month | Monthly billing | Yearly billing (2 months free) | Cost per credit | Extras on this tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 500 | $29 | $290 a year ($24.17 a month) | 5.8 cents | None |
| 1,000 | $49 | $490 a year ($40.83 a month) | 4.9 cents | None |
| 2,000 | $79 | $790 a year ($65.83 a month) | 4.0 cents | None |
| 3,500 | $129 | $1,290 a year ($107.50 a month) | 3.7 cents | 1-on-1 onboarding |
| 5,000 | $169 | $1,690 a year ($140.83 a month) | 3.4 cents | 1-on-1 onboarding |
| 10,000 | $319 | $3,190 a year ($265.83 a month) | 3.2 cents | 1-on-1 onboarding |
| 25,000 | $579 | $5,790 a year ($482.50 a month) | 2.3 cents | Onboarding and a dedicated success manager |
| 50,000 | $939 | $9,390 a year ($782.50 a month) | 1.9 cents | Onboarding and a dedicated success manager |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Quoted | Contact sales |
The yearly figures assume "2 months free" means you pay for 10 months, which is how the page phrases it. Cost per credit is the monthly price divided by credits. A picture message uses 3 credits per segment, so a promotion with an image costs three times as much as plain text.
What every SlickText plan includes
The page is clear that nothing is gated by plan size. Integrations and Workflows, its automation builder, are on the $29 plan the same as on the $939 plan. Every paid plan also includes:
- Unlimited contacts. You pay for what you send, not the size of your list.
- Free incoming texts. Replies and keyword opt-ins do not use credits.
- Rollover credits. Unused credits carry over for one month on monthly plans and for one year on annual plans.
- One premium sending number, with 10DLC, toll-free, short code and RCS listed as options.
- Live phone, chat and email support.
- A 14-day trial with every feature and no credit card.
Two pricing policies stand out. Eligible nonprofits get 20% off any standard plan, and SlickText says it will match any SimpleTexting standard plan price. If SimpleTexting is also on your list, we compared SimpleTexting pricing and its alternatives from the live page, so you can see what that match is worth.
SlickText costs that are easy to miss
The plan price is most of the bill, but not all of it.
- Carrier fees. US carriers charge a per-message fee on business texting. SlickText passes these through without markup, but they vary by number type, country and whether the message is SMS or MMS, and the pricing page does not print the amounts.
- Running out of credits. The page does not list an overage rate. It says you get a warning when credits run low so you can change plans, which in practice means moving up a tier mid-month.
- Team members. You can invite teammates, but the pricing page does not say how many are included or whether extra seats cost money. Ask before you buy if more than two people will text.
- RCS. Branded RCS messaging carries a $500 one-time setup fee and a $200 annual maintenance fee.
- Geography. SlickText sends to the US and Canada only.
What you will actually pay at three volumes
Here are three common buyers, priced on SlickText and on ColdTexting at the tier that covers their volume. Carrier fees are left out of both because every vendor passes them through.
| Buyer | SlickText monthly | SlickText yearly | ColdTexting monthly | ColdTexting yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Restaurant sending 1,500 promo texts a month | $79 (2,000 credits) | $65.83 | $149 (Growth, 2,500 segments) | $74 |
| Five person sales team, 2,500 texts | $129 (3,500 credits), seats not listed | $107.50 | $149 (Growth, 5 users included) | $74 |
| Twelve rep team, 10,000 texts | $319 (10,000 credits), seats not listed | $265.83 | $499 (Scale, 15 users included) | $249 |
For the restaurant, SlickText is the better buy on monthly billing, and that is the kind of business it is designed around: keyword signups at the register, a weekly offer, a birthday coupon. On yearly billing the gap closes to about $8 a month.
For the two sales teams the answer turns on two questions the SlickText page does not answer: what the seats cost, and whether you need the controls a sales team needs. On yearly billing ColdTexting comes in below SlickText for both teams with users included.
SlickText vs other texting platforms at 500 texts a month
Most small businesses start near 500 texts a month, so that is the fairest place to line the entry prices up. All figures come from each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026.
| Platform | 500 texts, monthly | Users on the entry plan | Built for |
|---|---|---|---|
| SlickText | $29 | Not listed on pricing page | Retail, restaurant and nonprofit broadcasts |
| Textedly | $29 | $10 per teammate | Keyword broadcasts on a shared short code |
| EZ Texting | $25 plus a $5 telecom fee | 1, then $10 each | Broadcasts sized by contact list |
| SimpleTexting | $39 | 3, then $20 each | Broadcasts and two-way inbox |
| ColdTexting | $49, or $24 yearly | 1 on Starter, 5 on Growth | Sales and lead follow-up with consent proof |
The four broadcast tools are close enough on price that the choice comes down to how they handle seats and extras. We worked through Textedly pricing and alternatives and EZ Texting pricing the same way if you want the detail.
Who should buy SlickText and who should look elsewhere
SlickText is a strong fit when your texting is one message to many people who opted in with a keyword or a form. Restaurants, gyms, salons, churches, schools and retail shops get the most from it. Unlimited contacts and rollover credits suit a list that grows fast and a sending pattern that spikes around holidays and events.
It fits less well when texting is a sales activity. A rep who texts a web lead, waits, and follows up twice is not running a broadcast. That workflow needs sequences that stop the moment the lead replies, replies routed to the rep who owns the deal, and the deal logged in the CRM. It also carries more legal risk. A single text sent without consent can cost $500 under the TCPA, or up to $1,500 if a court finds it willful, and lead lists bought or shared between companies are where most claims start.
That is the job ColdTexting is built for. Every contact carries a consent record with the opt-in wording, time and page. Imports without a consent source are held back. Quiet hours follow the recipient's state and time zone, including the Florida and Oklahoma caps of three sales texts per 24 hours. And the 10DLC brand and campaign are filed inside your account. The controls are laid out on our TCPA compliance software page, and insurance agencies can see how it works for quote follow-up in SMS marketing for insurance agents.
If the main thing you text customers is a request to leave a Google review after a visit, a texting platform may be more than you need. Dedicated review request software sends that one message at the right moment and tracks who left a review.
How to choose a plan in ten minutes
- Count last month's outbound texts. Add 20% for growth and pick the tier that covers it. With rollover, buying slightly high costs little.
- Count the people who will text. If it is more than one, get the seat price in writing from every vendor on your list.
- Decide monthly or yearly. SlickText yearly saves 2 months. ColdTexting yearly roughly halves the price. Textedly yearly adds texts instead of cutting the price.
- Check consent before you import. Run one real message and one real contact through the vendor's compliance checks. Our SMS compliance checker scores a message without an account.
SlickText pricing questions buyers ask
How much does SlickText cost per month?
SlickText costs $29 a month for 500 credits, $49 for 1,000, $79 for 2,000 and $129 for 3,500, according to its pricing page in October 2026. The largest published plan is $939 a month for 50,000 credits, and Enterprise pricing is quoted on request. Carrier fees are added on top at no markup.
Is SlickText cheaper if you pay yearly?
Yes. SlickText gives 2 months free on yearly billing, so the $29 plan comes to about $290 a year, or $24.17 a month. Annual plans also roll unused credits over for a full year instead of one month.
Does SlickText have a free plan?
SlickText offers a 14-day free trial with every feature and no credit card, then a paid plan from $29 a month. ColdTexting has no free plan either. You can score a message in our compliance checker without an account and get a one-time demo after signup.
What happens if I run out of SlickText credits?
SlickText says it warns you when credits run low so you can change your plan, and its pricing page does not list a per-text overage rate. Unused credits roll over for one month on monthly plans, which softens a slow month but does not cover a big spike.
Does SlickText charge carrier fees?
Yes. SlickText passes US and Canadian carrier fees through at no added markup. The amount depends on the number type, the country and whether the message is SMS or MMS, and it is billed on top of the plan price.
What is a good alternative to SlickText?
For broadcasts to keyword subscribers, Textedly, SimpleTexting and EZ Texting price within a few dollars of SlickText. For sales teams, agencies and regulated industries that text leads one to one and need consent records, state quiet hours and follow-ups that stop on reply, ColdTexting is the better fit.
Text leads without the legal risk
